Gina Mundy — Childbirth Attorney and Bestselling Author

Professional Biography

Gina Mundy is a nationally recognized trial attorney, internationally bestselling author, speaker, and one of the most distinctive voices in the childbirth space. She is the creator and host of The Childbirth Attorney Podcast, which has grown to more than 80,000 YouTube subscribers, and she has appeared on more than 150 podcasts and media platforms reaching audiences across the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and beyond. What makes Gina's perspective different is where it comes from. For more than two decades, she has studied childbirth after something went wrong. She has analyzed labor and delivery records, interviewed physicians and nurses, worked with leading medical experts across the country, examined medical research, and reconstructed the critical decisions made in the minutes before a mother or baby was harmed. For more than twenty years, Gina has studied the moments in childbirth that matter most. The warning signs. The decisions. The minutes when the outcome can change. That perspective became the foundation of A Parent's Guide to a Safer Childbirth, her internationally bestselling book. Gina took the lessons she had spent years uncovering in birth injury cases and turned them into practical knowledge families could use before labor begins. Her belief is simple. The most important lessons in childbirth should not be learned after tragedy. They should be understood before a family enters the delivery room. Today, Gina brings that message to audiences across the United States and around the world through her book, speaking engagements, media appearances, educational platforms, and The Childbirth Attorney Podcast. Her legal work is driven by the same purpose. When a preventable mistake changes the life of a mother, baby, or family, Gina uses decades of experience to uncover what happened, identify what should have happened, and hold the hospital accountable.

Personal Biography

Gina lives in Clarkston, Michigan. She has three wonderful children: Abigail, Elliana, and Liam. However, her family expanded even further in September 2018 when Abigail approached her with a request. She asked if Angie, a foreign exchange student from Thailand who was not getting along with her host family, could come live with them. Gina agreed and Angie became her third daughter that year.

Gina has a passion for travel and discovering local treasures wherever she goes. One of her favorite pastimes is exploring farmers markets, where she can support the local people. Her shopping list includes fresh bread, cheese, vegetables, fruit, meat, coffee, and local wine. Among all the farmers markets she has visited, her favorite is situated in Pentwater, Michigan, a hidden gem of a harbor town. Its charm lies in the absence of big chain stores, fast-food restaurants, and traffic lights.

Camping is an annual highlight for Gina. Each summer, she spends weeks outdoors with her family. The tranquil sunsets, cooking over an open fire, and leisurely lounging in camping hammocks while overlooking Lake Michigan has created the best memories.

For many years, Gina served as the local Girl Scout leader. She is also an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution ("DAR") and is part of the Michigan Dunes Chapter. However, her true passion lies in coaching her kids' softball and baseball teams. Having grown up playing softball herself and being inspired by exceptional coaches, Gina enjoys sharing her knowledge and skills with aspiring players.

Whenever she can spare a moment, Gina enjoys visiting wineries. Beyond the tastings, she enjoys engaging with winery owners, immersing herself in their stories and history. Among her favorite wine destinations are Niagara-on-the-Lake in Canada, the wineries throughout Michigan, and in Tuscany, Italy.
